Th eone available to you may be different than the ones available here.
Here this is a fee to load it, the rate of exchange they give you is nothing l ke the Interbank rate (the one in the newspapers - but about 8% worse, there is another fee to retrieve any money you have there - and of course, they have the use of your money all the time it's in there without paying you any interest. The key is not to compare to the bank's regular rate of exchange - which is always awful - but the official Interbank rate (usually at least 7-8% better than what the bank gives consumers). |
I don't know Windchat, I'm guessing it is a house rental. North Palmetto Point is very pretty and not all that far from the Govenours Harbour airport, 30 minute drive. You will have to have a rental car to get anywhere on island and for groceries. There is a grocery store at Palmetto Point, that will have most everything you need and Mate&Jennys pizza/restaurant/bar there as well. For any other restaurants you will need a car. Maitlin (the owner) is a wonderful host and makes THE BEST conch pizza (sorry, now drooling).
I HIGHLY recommend CocoDimama for an evening dinner, and you also might try the Cigatoo Inn. There's also Pinapple and Rainbow Inn which you might try as well. You can drive up to N. Eleuthera Airport, further down that road you will find the water taxi over to Harbour Island and you would probably enjoy a day there as well. THe island is so pretty over the holidays. If you go there, find Reggie, he will give you a tour of the island. If you decide to go there, let me know and I will give you lots of names of people there to see. Let me know when you are here, and I'd be happy to meet up and bring some pictures of the Bahamas. |
Thanks NYtraveller, there seems to quite a lot of good recommendations for the caxton card but will check it out properly before deciding. I have yet to save the cash never mind think about how Im going to get it over there lol.
Travelbuff - thanks so much for all the info, v good of u! Great to hear personal recommendations for restaurants etc. Yup the plan is to spend a day on harbour Island and yeah we'll def have to get a hire car sorted... windchat is a rental, I totally fell in love with the house and the view as soon as I saw the pics so very excited to stay there - will be great to relax after a VERY busy week in NY! NY Ranger Schedule
Posted by: Aduchamp1 on Jul 17, 2009 at 01:09 PM Posted in: United States Tagged: New York A poster inquired about seeing a NY Ranger game during Christmas week. Unfortunately I do not remember the topic name. But the schedule was published this week. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/teams/schedule?team=nyr Please note that two of the games are against the arch rivals Islanders and Flyers and tickets for those games are hard to get whenever they are played, so act quickly. |
Thanks for that J62 :-)
I think the best timing for us would be the rangers v detroit red wings on sunday 6th December, apparently the tickets for single games go on sale in September so will keep an eye out.... Thanks for ure help everyone, really can't wait! Carole |
don't forget to look at the Christmas displays in the department store windows - and go to Rockefeller Center to see the ice skaters. NYC is fun in December!

Kwren, I think the christmassy atmosphere and going ice skating is what im most excited about lol! Ah I have to stop day dreaming and get back to work.....

carole, I usually bugdet around $100 per person per day for breakfast, lunch, transportation, and attraction fees.
This does not include shopping, theater, or dinner. Whatever is left over I throw into my 'splurge' account and buy myself a nice sursey. |
