Please I need help planning this Christmas vacation. I haven't been able to find alot of information on activities for that week yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Ages range from 23-64.

Sorry...no parades, but the state's official tourist website will give you details about events.

Go to this page, use the menu to request the events calendar, input your travel dates, and enjoy!

Hey! I'll be in Hawaii for Christmas also! But I grew up there, so I always go home for the holidays... From a local, here are my tips for Oahu:

(1) Spend a day driving out to the North Shore. This is a cute, funky town that has something for everyone: shopping, beach, Dole pinapple plantation. You'll love it! And, during Christmas, the waves are AWESOME, so you'll get to see some superior surfing!

Here is a good map:

(2) Take the family to Kailua! You can rent kayaks and paddle out to one of three little islands off the coast of this popular beach. After, get shave ice from Island Snow and dinner at Buzz's.

(3) Need to do a last-minute shopping trip? We always go out to Waipahu for the Waikele outlet stores! Totally a local thing. Can get stuff from Local Motion, Bebe, BCBG, Banana Republic... Love it. Better prices than Ala Moana.

(4) In the downtown area around the state Capitol, a really popular thing to do at night is to walk around and see the Christmas lights. Seriously funny stuff like a surfing Santa, snowmen in beach gear... You'd enjoy. Sometimes they have a festival going on down there as well.

Can't think of anything else. But you always can visit the Iolani Palace, Pearl Harbor, Sea Life Park... Hilton Hawaiian Villiage is a great place to stay, but beware that this is where all the high schools have their winter proms.. Haha. Also, you should know that Christmas time is when we get out "winter," which means rain... But if it's raining in one spot, it might not be raining in another part of the island... so you can literally "run from the rain." Love it. Have fun!

And ... FINALLY ... Mele Kalikimaka!
