Spend a day in St Paul or Minneapolis?

I am going to a conference i the Twin cities, the conference center is between St. Paul and Minneapolis. I have half a day of - which city should I visit?

I would mainly be interessted in walking around a get a feeling of the city, not such much shopping.

Thank you

Spend the time in Minneapolis. Go to the Walker and then stroll around the Sculpture Garden. Head over to Lake Calhoun and walk or rent a bike to travel the path around the lake. Then, go into Uptown and, if it is a gorgeous Fall day like today, sit on Stella's roof for a meal.

That sounds lovely! Thank you

The Walker and the sculpture garden are great ideas. But even if you do not want to shop Mall of America is something to see - lego sculptures, sealife aquarium and some really unique restaurants. If you are into science the Science Museum is hosting the exhibit Maya Hidden Worlds revealed and they have an Omnitheatre movie Mystery of the Maya. The twin cities has a very active theatre scene - check to see if the Orpheum, Ordway, Pantages or the Guthrie have anything that interests you. You might be able to catch a football or basketball game in October.

May not be that interesting to you, but Brits Pub (Nicollet mall/Minneapolis) is a great place for a beer or meal. With lawn bowling on the roof.

If you do venture to St. Paul, try to stick your head into the St. Paul Cathedral.

There are city bikes to rent all over the place. Get one and you can ride on the paths on what is called the
Grand Round--around 3 lakes and along a creek. There are also many lovely older homes along this route that you can admire.
