Speedbuggy? Are you away

Ive become accustomed to seeing you post more frequently and you havent been on for a bit? Missin your fatherly advice to all. Let us know whats up-on a holiday perhaps!!

LoveItaly Sep 4th, 2006 05:28 PM

I have been worried about Speedbuggy also irecommend as a few weeks ago he posted his "ticker" (to use his words) was not doing well. I do hope he is alright..I wish some Fodorite knew how to contact him.

I wonder if Fodor's would send him an email if requested to do so.

He hasnt posted for a few days which is not like him. Lets hope he checks in even if hes travelling-maybe he'll get the vibes that were thinking bout him!!

kopp Sep 4th, 2006 05:32 PM

He mentioned a couple weeks ago that he was heading up to Yellowstone "in a couple weeks", so perhaps he's on his way. <):)

BayouGal Sep 4th, 2006 05:32 PM

He was posting a couple of weeks ago about leaving on a vacation to Wyoming in "a couple of weeks." I am wondering if the couple of weeks have passed, and hoping he is on his trip as opposed to being ill. Maybe we'll hear from him soon.

LoveItaly Sep 4th, 2006 05:45 PM

Yes, I just did a search and Speedbuggy posted on August 19th that he would be leaving in two weeks..which would have been this weekend. Another post of his was asking about internet access at Yellowstone.

I sure hope that he is on a beautiful trip versus having health problems.

BayouGal Sep 4th, 2006 05:48 PM

Good work, LoveItaly!! I thought I was just trying to convince myself, but I feel better after hearing the facts. Thank you, ma'am!:)

Scarlett Sep 4th, 2006 05:48 PM

LOL Love, we should be internet detectives! I just got that post too..
Yellowstone, Cody, Tetons, and Jackson in 2 weeks.
Speedbuggy is having a great time right now!!

BayouGal Sep 4th, 2006 05:49 PM

kopp, I just noticed - talk about two brilliant minds in a line - same thought, basically same post, at the same time! LoL :)

irecommend Sep 4th, 2006 05:58 PM

Good, that eases my mind!

LoveItaly Sep 4th, 2006 06:31 PM

Hi Scarlett, do you think we could get partime jobs, lol! I feel better also irecommend as I have wondered about Speedbuggy. I still cringe as the first time I posted to him I called him Speedbunny. He has a great sense of humor and is certainly a fine gentleman. The type of person I enjoy and respect. Thanks for starting this thread irecommend.

irecommend Sep 5th, 2006 03:29 AM

Yes I agree. He seems like a nice person. He'll be laughing when he gets back and sees this thread all about him!!

Link Sep 5th, 2006 11:21 AM

I also hope Speedbuggy has begun his adventure. He has been so very active on these boards, that I too missed seeing his posts. I thought he said that he will be in Grand Teton towards the later part of Sept. Hopefully he has been planning a long trip!

We are leaving tomorrow, beginning & ending in Salt Lake City. We are doing basicly the perimeter of the state of Wy. Going first east, then north to the Black Hills. from there back west and into Yellowstone & GT and then home.
We will be in Yellowstone at Mammoth on the 14 & 15, then a night in Cody, then Lake Yellowstone for 2 nights and Old Faithful on the 19 & 20. Them Gt for 3 nights. Hopefully, this will satisfy my need to see mother nature for awhile.

I will be looking for you BayouGal, and if you see someone in their mid fifties with long blond hair and glasses with my balding DH, feel free to say hi!!! Have a great and safe trip!

cmcfong Sep 5th, 2006 12:00 PM

Link, you and BG need to have a Fodors wave. That way you will be sure to recognize each other on the trail!

BayouGal Sep 5th, 2006 12:01 PM

Oh, Link, I will be looking for you! I would LOVE to see you there!

I am tallish, mid-40s, shoulder length blond hair that may be in a ponytail/bun thing that my kids got me in the habit of doing while hiking, and my dh has jet black hair, fit, mid-50s but looks 30. LoL We'll probably both be wearing sunglasses.

We will be looking for you - what fun it would be to run into one another, huh?! :)

I quite frequently yell out "any Fodorites here?" in crowds, so if you hear that, you have found me! ;-)

Have a wonderful trip! And the chance of seeing you makes it all the more exciting! :)

cmcfong - I just yell out. You know how us southerners are. LoL

cmcfong Sep 5th, 2006 12:21 PM

Well in that case, BayouGal, we will have no trouble finding each other should we share a trail some day!

Kal Sep 5th, 2006 12:27 PM

Since I couldn't get Betsy likker'd up enough at the last GTG to swipe her Original Fodor's Pin, I always travel with my Fodor's magnets clinging to the plate in my head so people will know I'm a proud member of the FFF. #-O

starrsville Sep 5th, 2006 12:33 PM

I wear the Fodors luggage tag as a necklace.

Scarlett Sep 5th, 2006 12:55 PM

LOL, Kal! Will you be wearing the magnets in Italy?
Love, Yes and I agree :)

Kal Sep 5th, 2006 02:05 PM

starssy...Mrs Kal puts my flea powder in them!

Scarlett.....the magnets and a smile!

Speaking of Grand Tetons.....
One of the "drop jaw" travel moments was flying back East thru Minna on N'West we flew up north and we got a tremendous view of the snow covered Tetons. Wow!
