Special Meal in SF - Gary Dankos?
 

After reveiwing this board and others, it seems as if Gary Dankos gets high marks for a place to go for a special meal in SF? We're looking for a restaurant with wonderful ambience (hopefully not too noisy) and great food. Any other suggestions for fabulous restaurants??

My husband and I went to Gary Danko's twice, once on our honeymoon and again a year later.
We enjoyed it tremendously both times.
If you're looking for more recommendations for nice dinners, let me know and I'll try to remember the names of other places we went to.

and the old standby, Masa's, amazing European style service

at any of these restaurants,if you don't like the table (and you are on time for your reservation) ask for a better one.

I second Farallon

I also love Farallon.

One of my favorites is Boulevard. It's at the end of Market Street and afterwards/or before you can go for a walk on the Embarcadero.

We also had a very enjoyable meal at Farallon. Request a table in the main pool room, it's really pretty! ***kim*** ((f))
