Spamelot -Shubert NYC- Orch.Row P - worth it?

Our children are dying to see Spamelot while visiting NYC in April. Of course, this is a tough ticket to come by but I have found 4 in Orch. section, row P ($125 each!). Since I'm not familiar with this theater, I would appreciate any comments on seat location.

Many thanks as usual.

It's far back, but what seats? How far to the side?

Our famiily saw Spamalot last summer but were only able to get balcony tickets. I was pleasantly surprised to see how small theatre is and our seats were much better than I thought they would be. From looking at the seating chart, although you would be near the back of the theatre, you really are only 15 rows back.

The tickets are pricey but we really enjoyed the show and the kids talk about it as a highlight of our trip. Afterwards, we waited by the Stage Door and David Hyde Pierce patiently signed autographs for a long time.

Hope this is helpful. Have a great trip.

Thanks for the replies.

HowardR:
On Row P, the seats are 14-20, seven seats in from the aisle. Seats on Row S are also available - 2-8, but are on the aisle if that makes a big difference. They are slightly less expensive at $115. I'm just worried that these seats are too far back. All of these tickets are less than most other ticket brokers who have them listed for $230+.

I have not been able to find a website for the Shubert. Every listing shoots me to a different ticket broker. I did try phoning the theater directly last week but only got a recording with no information on ticket purchases. Did I miss something?

Help! I'm wearing out. I just want our children (Daughter 16 and son 10) to have the best seats that are available and that we can afford.

Suggestions/recommendations at this point?

That is far back, but it is a small theatre. We had mezzanine seats, but way on the side and found it easy to see most of the stage. Are there any mezz seats or balcony seats left? I usually prefer to go to the mezzanine or balcony than be at the back of the orchestra.

No mezz or balcony seats are available through this particular ticket broker.

I'm looking for tickets beginning Monday, April 17 through Friday, April 21. Any ideas?

I sat in row M about the same distance from the aisle and had a very good view. As other posters have stated, the theatre is small.

Have you tried Telecharge, the "normal" outlet for getting tickets to Spamalot? The numbers are 800-432-7250 or 212-239-6200. It charges the regular box office prices plus a $5-7 service charge per ticket.
If you can't do any better there, then I think I'd go with the Row S tickets, as they are closer to the center will offer a better view of the entire stage.

Another option (which we have done) is to get two sets of two tickets each and trade seats at intermission if you don't mind not sitting all together. At times there are better seating options available going this route.

Good luck!

kathrynt gave good advice, but if you don't want to split up, then I'd take the S row seats, but if those are gone, I'd go K's route or take the P row seats - it's fabulous and much happens center stage and it's worth being there - fabulous show. you'll be smiling and laughing for hours

Thanks, everyone. You all really helped me.

I did call Telecharge (so glad to finally have the direct line to the theater) but they really didn't have anything until May - only premium tickets at $310!!!

I just purchased 4 together on R Orch. Row P. I'm sure they will be fine and I know the kids will be thrilled.

if your kids have ipods, or whatever, they should download the "always look on the bright side of life" song from the show - it will get them whistling and in the mood !! I can't wait to see it again - I thought it was great fun.
