Space coast

Any suggestions on a nice place to stay in Cocoa Beach or nearby in May. Want to hopefully see the launch scheduled for May, and to check out the nesting turtles. Thanks for any help.

What type of accomodation are you looking for? There's a wide variety in Cocoa Beach, from mom and pop oceanfront cottages to resorts.

Cross your fingers on the launch. Sometimes they launch right on schedule, sometimes the launch gets delayed, and delayed, and delayed. You just never know. You can follow the launch effort at the local paper's website: http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbc...ategory=news02

If you're interested in wildlife/eco-tourism, there are all sorts of possibilities....just post back and let me know.

just to let you know that the shuttle launch has been delayed until July.

Yes, that was on our news today, that the next launch will probably be changed from May to July.

And I was about to tell you that turtle nesting season begins in June and reaches its height in July. So if you change your trip to July you will be able to see a launch and some turtle nesting.
