Space Center Houston disappointing
 

For all of the fanfare about Disney creating this attraction, it was a real disappointment. Much of it is geared to very small children and play spaces, with the part geared toward older kids and adults consisting mostly of films and lectures. Rocket Park, an outdoor exhibit of rockets, consists of 2 sad examples-where's the rest of this stuff? There was one section that had good artifacts and exhibits following a film. I don't recommend this attraction for teens or adults. The website and some of the promotional materials are very misleading-there's nothing interactive nor are there features that you "feel or experience" as they claim.

For a great experience for adults interested in the space program and aviation, visit the Kansas Cosmpshere in Hutchinson, northeast of Wichita.

The Cosmosphere a world class space museum. This is the place the other space museums have restore their artifacts. They have Apollo 13, Liberty Bell 7, a SR-71 Blackbird, Imax, planetarium, live science shows, and maore Soviet space artifacts than anywhere else outside the former Soviet Union (including several of their space craft).

Lots of stuff to see and do, a whole days worth, you tour the launch sites, the world's largest single story building, see parts of the space station being put together, meet and have lunch with astronauts, etc.

What I have seen online about the Houston facility was nothing near the amenties at KSC.

I was there two years ago with my daughter's 5th grade class. I didn't do any research or anything - just signed up as a chaperone for the field trip (overnight). While there, I decided that this must be something they set up special for kids/school field trips. I felt there must be another NASA/Space Center for adults because it was mostly an attraction for kids and I was sad we didn't get to see the "real thing". If what I saw is all there is, then you are definitely right. It is very disappointing.
