Spa recommendation in US
Looking for a spa for some down time, open to just about anywhere, prefer beautiful atmosphere, high level of services, hopefully by the ocean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel is a gorgeous hotel, pools, and grounds, by the ocean with beautiful views. The service there is perfection.

I think the Grove Park Resort in Asheville has a great spa and great service. No ocean view though.....it is one of my favorite indulgences.

It just so happens that the June issue of Conde' Nast Traveler lists 100 US mainland spas and 20 Hawaii spas.

Forbes Travel Guide (formerly Mobil) gives five and four star ratings to hotels, restaurants and spas. I follow the restaurants closely and there are usually just 25 or so five stars each year, so it's pretty exclusive. I'm guessing it's similar with spas.
My wife has gone to a four star (Aji in Arizona) and a five star (Grand del Mar near San Diego) when we were dining at the 5* restaurants at these resorts, and was very happy with both. Here's a link, find the state you are interested in and start clicking. http://blog.startle.com/forbes-trave...-award-winners Of the ones mentioned above the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel is a four star. Didn't see a rating for the others mentioned. |
