Spa break for new Mom in Napa, Sonoma, Calistoga?

Hi Fodor friends. I want to send my wife away by herself for a weekend of much needed relaxation. (We have a 14-month-old. She needs a break!) I'm looking for somewhere NICE, where she can arrive Friday night, spend the day on Saturday relaxing in spa luxuriousness, back on Sunday. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
You are so kind to do this for your wife!
I had a wonderful bath treatment, foot massage and full body massage at Lavender Hills Spa located in Calistoga (Napa Valley). However, if she is by herself, I would recommend the Fairmont Sonoma mission Inn. I think that would be a nice place to go by yourself. Although the treatment at Lavender Hills was AWESOME, it only lasted about three hours or so. If she went to the Fairmont, she could go to the Salon or Mineral pool..there are more options for someone who is by herself (in my opinion) at a resort type place. Either choice is great..if you picked Lavender Hills, she could stroll around Calistoga (Lincoln street) and browse through the cute shops. IF she can walk, that is. After our treatments at Lavender Hills, my husband and I were so relaxed we barely could walk in a straight line! Good luck!

Very nice of you to do this! Check www.luxurylink.com, they usually have nice room & spa packages. I saw some for Napa and Sonoma recently.

I second the suggestion for the Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma. I have stayed there once and will be going back soon. It's a gorgeous property. www.sonomamissioninn.com She will love the Apricots N Cream lotions there! :)

In Calistoga, check out the Indian Springs Resort, www.indianspringscalistoga.com I hope she has a nice time, what a thoughtful husband you are! ***kim*** ((f))

Mmmmm..I used my Apricots and Cream Shampoo and rinse just this morning. I have done Calistoga too and for the most part you really can't go wrong..the treatments are fabulous but the Sonoma Mission Inn is just such a wonderful look and atmosphere...she'll love it and you too for sending her there.

Check out Indian Springs in Calistoga. She'll feel safe, can walk all over town by herself even in the evening and get great spa treatments. Rooms there can be a bit pricey so consider the Calistoga Spa as a place to stay. I'd recommend treatments at Indian Springs. It's maybe a three-four short city block walk on the same side of the street. There are kitchenettes in both places which allows her to have coffee in the am etc without having to interact!

Yes, ISR is a bit pricey, about $265/night but very much worth it. The inside of the bungalows are very nice. Hardwood floors, wood stove, full kitchen, really like a little apartment. ***kim*** ((#))
