I am planning a trip, with a 10 yr old, to SW Co 7/20-24 or 7/27-31, planning on going to (Day 1) sand dunes, then drive up to (Day 2) Canon City to see Royal Gorge either train or park, (Day 4) Colorado Springs, Garden of Gods and Seven Falls (Day 5) Manitou Springs/ Pikes peak and Cave of the winds (Day 6) white water rafting 1/2 day or baseball game

Hummmm....I thought Southwest, Colorado was Mesa Verde National Park, Durango, Million Dollar Highway, Ouray.

I agree with fellow posters, this is not southwest Colorado. Nevertheless your itinerary is fine. Just remember that the area you'll be visiting is also very touristy.

Me three or four.

I'd go south to Great Sand Dunes, then west to Durango, see Mesa Verde, then head north through Ouray back toward Denver.

But, then I like Southwest Colorado better than Northeast Colorado.

Ditto. I'm a Western Slope girl. There's lots more to see, IMO.
