southwest airlines

Todays Washington Post shows Southwest offering oneway coast to coast for $99.00 with some restrictions. Shorter flights for less.

But for me it would be $198 each way or $396 RT plus probably 6 stops each way. Rather spend my money on a real airline and go non-stop for essentially the same price!

With Southwest, you get one flight free for every 4 you buy.

Noone is twisting your arm fatman.

So if a fat person has to buy two seats, he would get one free ticket for every 2 times that he pays, since he is buying 4 tickets?

But they would only give him one free ticket, and he needs two tickets to fly. So actually he would have to fly four times, buying 8 seats, in order to get a free flight, right? They'd give him two free seats.

What if a fat man earned one free ticket and couldn't afford to buy himself the second seat that he needs to fly? Southwest would then have invented the perfect frequent flyer ticket, a ticket that the passenger could never ever use. Every day would be a blackout day.

That sounds like a horrible word problem and I just got that nasty old i-hate-school feeling.

I applaude Southwest for finally cracking down on people who take two seats. If the flight is not full, then the airline does allow anyone to raise the armrest and take two seats. It's when there are no unpurchased seats available that you have to worry about. Now if they can just keep that damn kid from kicking my seat...
