Southernmost Point Statues

Interesting debate (pretty one sided) going on at another site....what are your thoughts about these statues?

Kal is there!!! :-)

They look like they just rolled into town on a Carnival Cruise ship.

Yikes!

How about a link to "another site"...might be more fun.

GoTravel:

is that because they are dressed for comfort?

Dumb. That site is busy enough with real people that it doesn't need statues to add to the crowd.

GoTravel Apr 9th, 2007 02:48 PM

No Dukey. It is because the woman is dressed almost identically to my mother when we went on our Carnival Cruise:-D

I think those statues have to go. Too unrealistic. The guys don't have white sneakers with black knee socks. ;^(

So . . . the two people wearing the hats are real?

I think the clothing the statues are wearing will look very "dated" and out of place in a very short time. Their smiles and eyes look a little creepy too. And why are the races segregated? Visitors may want to take a picture at that spot without fake-looking statues in the picture?

How did they come up with the "value" of $700k? I admit that I am a boor, and never heard of "J. Seward Johnson."
