Southern Utah trip question
We want to fly into Las Vegas (because it's cheap) and try to visit Zion, Bryce, Route 12 to Capitol Reef, Arches, and return to Las Vegas. We have been to most of these parks before (20 yrs ago) but have never been to Monument Valley and would also love to go there (and Mesa Verde). So many great places but we only have about 10 days. Planning to do some hiking and maybe camping (not sure it's worth hauling all the gear). We're going in September and just trying to figure out the best route and destinations. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Sharon

There have been tons of discussions on Southern Utah and surrounding areas the last cpuple of months. Enter different topics in the text search above.
Try Southern Utah, Four Corners, or the names of the parks. |
Hi Sharondi
We did 10 days last March and included the S. Rim Grand Canyon You can get a good feel for the area in 10 days but you will want more. Here is a link or 2 to get you started http://www.utah.com/ http://www.so-utah.com/tour/homepage.html My best advice is get a map and play connect the dots. In Utah there are not alot of paved roads between places. I think your biggest choich will be clockwise or conter-clockwise in your loop. Have Fun GP |
I agree with the idea of doing a search, just to see other people's itineraries. We found the Indian Country map from the California Automobile Association really helpful on our trip to Utah, AZ, and NM last week. It covers all the places you mention in one map, roughly centered on the Four Corners. I think you can get it through AAA. If you aren't members, you can buy this map at most gift shops and convenience stores once you arrive.
