St.Pete Beach is NOT in South Florida. It's way up in Northern Florida. As far as Naples or Ft. Lauderdale, in Naples you have the Gulf (not the Ocean) & in Ft. Lauderdale you have the Ocean. Depends on what you prefer. I live near Ft. Lauderdale & my husband & I go for a lot of week-end getaways to Naples. Let me know what city you decide on & I can recommend some Hotels.

Just got back about 4 weeks ago from the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale. BEAUTIFUL resort hotel on a private stretch of beach. You won't be sorry. We had an oceanview room. Won a bid on Priceline for $105 a night. Hotel is defintely worth staying at. Nice pools, friendly service etc.. The only negative is the parking fee. $16.00 a day. Just a warning. Hotel is centrally located.

Have fun!!!

Janny, as far as Priceline, what area do you ask for to get the Marriott Harbor Beach? If we type in "resort" and don't get the Marriott, what are some other resort hotels in that area that they could give us?

Pick the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area. It is the only resort listed, so you can almost guarantee you will get the Marriott.
