Southern Arizona and New Mexico Trip Report

In January, we spent a week in Southern Arizona and New Mexico. Both areas are really pretty and highly recommended. The trip concentrated on nature and wildlife. We experienced everything from sun to snow to wind to kamikazee tumbleweed. It was a lot of fun.

Here is a link to the reports.

Hi

Enjoyed your trip report and loved your photographs! We moved to Las Cruces, NM 3 years ago and are really enjoying exploring the surrounding areas, especially southeastern Arizona. Your report will be very helpful on our next foray!

You mentioned that you had been to Costa Rica and was wondering what your favorite areas were. After reading your trip report and seeing your pictures, it seems that we share similar interests, so your thoughts on Costa Rica would be greatly appreciated. (Apologies to anyone offended by cross forum questions)

Thanks again for the great report

Pamela

I love your report, particularly the photos, and especially the painted redstart and great horned owl. We have somehow managed several trips to new mexico without ever having visited Bosque Del Apache NWR - it's just shameful to be honest! We're most certainly going to go there this year. Thanks for sharing your trip!

Absolutely LOVE your photos! Though I have lived in NM for 9 years, I have been to Bosque del Apache just once to watch the cranes et al come in for the evening. It was an amazing experience.

We now live in northern ABQ and in the flight path of the cranes as sthey make their way to BDA. Shortly after moving into our home last fall, we were delighted to have them fly over our home enroute to BDA.

Thanks for sharing and bringing back memories.

Thanks for the kind words all. Southern AZ and NM are very picturesque and great for nature lovers. We will be returning as soon as we can.

Pamela, my website has trip reports and pictures from Costa Rica. If you couldn't tell from there or the Costa Rica forum here on Fodors, I am partial to the Osa Peninsula and particularly Bosque Del Cabo.

Your photographs of Yellowstone have inspired me to make every effort to visit Yellowstone NP on my next trip to the States. It's somewhere I have wanted to explore for quite some time.
