Some great advice hear. One or two comments.
My partner doesn't like heights but did the Fiery Furnace guided walk in Arches. She got across the "gap" just fine. However there was no way I could get her up Angels Landing in Zion. There were a lot of ashen faced hikers turning back from there! I loved it though!
We spent 5 days in Moab and wished we could have had more time. There is so much to do in and out of the parks.
If the strip in Vegas isn't your thing try the Hyatt resort out of town (about 15 miles). We loved it.
In the end we split our trips and were glad we did - you can always go back. We did these - Trip 1: Moab, Capitol Reef, Bryce. Trip 2: Sedona, North Rim of GC, Zion.

I thought of it (Angel’s Landing) – and I know I would not be able to make it. But I heard there is a place where a lot of people decide to go back. Not sure how ‘bad’ (think heights) the hike is up to that point, but that might be an option. Would you recommend this to someone with fear of heights? How long (time + distance) is to this point?
Thanks for the Hyatt idea in LV. That might be a good choice for us. We would like to go in though + have dinner and see a show. Maybe for those reason we should consider the strip (I’ve been to LV before, but DH hasn’t. He has no interest in it, though).
I think we’ll keep the current trip itinerary the way it is (now I’m really curious and want to see all the places I’ve been reading about) but we’ll have a 2nd one to Zion, Capitol Reef and Moab. And who knows what else?
LaurieB,
That’s another option, you’re right. But passing so close to Antelope Canyon and not going there?

XYZ,
You can go almost all the way on Angel's Landing before it get intense. Stop at the Scout's Overlook and you can enjoy all the same views. Awesome!!
Note: You can't take boats to Rainbow Arch right now. Lake Powell is so low from the 5 year drought, that it's high and dry. Check with the tour company to see exactly how close they take you.
You're going to have a great time!

Re Angel's Landing - if memory serves me right, there is a good hike to the point before it gets too intense. However just before you get to that point you do have to go around a rock outcrop where there is a chain to hang onto to help you get around. There isn't a sheer drop off or anything but you need some careful-ish footwork. My partner managed that bit fine but thought that was the full extent of the climb. Then you get around the corner and are faced with the (in parts) near vertical ascent with chains which she couldn't do. She rested at that point (with many others!) while I went up the rest.
I think it's about 2 hours (we go at a relatively fast pace) to the turn around point and there are some great views from there.

Diz01,
Thanks for coming back with the details, this will help us plan it and allocate enough time for the hike. We are not the fast hikers
But ‘a chain to hang onto to help you get around the rock’ – that sounds scary, but I’ll try it and let you know.
