South Shore hotel for wedding night
My fiance and I are getting married in August in Plymouth and are looking for a private bed and breakfast setting or a suite in a hotel in the south shore area....plymouth, marshfield, duxbury, etc. Does anyone have any ideas for a quaint place? Or a suite in a nice hotel? Thanks for the info....Kristen

When I looked at your header, I thought you were talking about Lake Tahoe! I'm sure there are other "South Shores" as well.
Best to be specific in you headers. You get more responses that way. Curious |
And I thought you meant either south shore of Long Island or Kauai! LOL

She's asking about Massachusetts.

I'm afraid you are in an area that is truly lacking in fine hotels. There is a new Marriot in Quincy and there are some nice places on the Cape - but not much in between. I would suggest you take the 45 minute ride to Boston and splurge on something really wonderful - - that's what we did. There is alos a Clarios Hotel in Nantasket Beach but in August it will be a zoo along that strip. Good Luck.

Check out the Fairview Inn in Brant Rock (Marshfield). www.thefairviewinn.com

Hi I lived in Ma. for 40 years on the south shore. My suggestion to you is to to conact the cape cod chamber of commerce and they will be able to help you. I now live in sunny Florida and have been for 10 years so I'm not sure what might be your options, but I do know that there are a few hotels in Plymouth and surronding area that you might consider. On the Cape there are alot of B/B also. Congraduatinos on your upcomig wedding and best of luck.I and my husband spent our wedding night at Plymouth harbor @ The Governer Bradford 35 yeats ago this May,but I dought if it is stillthere and we were 2 poor kids so it may not be luxurios enough.

The inn located in Cohasset is the Red Lion Inn (yes, same name as the one in Stockbridge). It is a nice place to hold an event or go for dinner. They do have suites for overnight stays but the view is downtown Cohasset, not of the beautiful Atlantic ocean which is a few blocks away.
I would avoid the Clarion in Hull -- it will be crazy there in August. If you are looking for a quiet get away try the Allen House or the Inn at Scituate Harbor in Scituate, MA. You will have views of the ocean and there are several lovely restaurants all within walking distance of either inn. Congratulations and good luck! WJH |

It is not far at all to Sandwich,Yarmouthport, etc. on the Cape. There are numerous b&b's there if that is what you are looking for.I also agree with Dorgal that staying in Boston for the night is expensive but really a nice experience. Try the Eliot, Copley Plaza, Bostonian, or the Boston Harbor Hotel(waterfront and pricey |
Thanks everyone! I can't wait to look up all of the suggestions!
