south lake tahoe
planning a first time trip the first weekend in March. would like ANY info on resutrants, shops, ski locations etc. We are trying to decide to stay at either Caesars or Harveys. thanks
|
We prefer Harveys which is now owned by Harrah's. IMO Harvey's has the most updated rooms however,Harrah's rooms are great as is the pool. The buffet and the steak house are wonderful at each location. We always ski Heavenly Valley as they have a shuttle that take you there as parking is awful!!!
Hope this helps--be aware the line are rfeally long on weekends, especially Saturday..

We stayed at Caesars last year and really enjoyed it. I thought the room was nice and the bathroom was actually quite large.
Hi. I stayed at Harrah's in October, but went into Ceasars both nights I was there. Ceasars has some fun Clubs to go to after a day of skiing.

I don't know what's going on with Harrah's but, I can no longer trust them. They tried to charge me over a hundred dollars on my bill while I was there but, I caught it , they corrected it, then I checked out. Now, that I got my bill this weekend , they slipped that extra charge on me AGAIN! Be leary of anything connected to Harrahs and make sure you watch your bill if you stay with them! I think they are in finanical trouble. Sneaky way to get extra money.

Harvey's is closer to the new gondola at Heavenly if that will be important to you.

Don't know what kinds of food or what budget you're looking at but some dinner places that we've enjoyed are:

Evans (after the Y on the way to Camp Richardson)
Riva Grill (At the Marina)
Cafe Fiore
Nepheles (Ski Run Blvd)

For Lunch Yellow Submarine is great.

Have fun.
