South Beach/ Miami Hotels
Does anyone know a good inexpensive hotel in South Beach. We have a couple of nights in Miami next month on our way to Peru and we don't want to break the bank at the beginning of the trip. We'd like to be in a fun area, but we don't really care much about nightlife - mostly proximity to shopping, restaurants (Cuban food would be great) and fun activities.
Thanks! |
I've stayed at the Marseilles Hotel right on Collins Ave before. Basic rooms but it has a decent pool with bar and is right on the beach near the upscale hotels (Delano, Shore Club, National, etc.) It's within walking distance to Lincoln Rd, Ocean Ave and all the South Beach attractions.

Either the Marseilles, South Seas Hotel, or the Holiday Inn South Beach.
The Days Inn South Beach is inexpensive and has a fantastic location (oceanfront with pool next door to the Setai and Shore Club), but it is in serious need of the renovations that are going on. |
We stayed at the South Seas in January and paid $125 for a very nice room. They offer a complimentary breakfast each morning, have a really pretty pool area, and are right on the beach. Lincoln Road is a short walk away as is Ocean Drive.

I stayed at the Doubletree Surfcomber at 1717 Collins this past week. It was clean and perfectly located. Easy to walk to everything, great pool and beach. The only downside was the walls are thin and you hear a bit more of your neighbors' sounds than you might want.

cmc, how was your trip?
I love the Surfcomber! What a great hotel! Unfortunately for me every time I go to Miami it is out of my price range. |
