South beach hotels
Looking for a hotel in the quiet part of SOBE, maybe the Park Central, but am travelling with my wifew and 2 kids. Any hotel that can accomodate us withg 2 quuens or rollaways, sfa beds, etc. I'm hearing most rooms are pretty small. Also beachfront or across the street is important. Thanks

You need to go with one of the renovated chain hotels unless you want to pay $500 per night for a room.
Only premium rooms in South Beach have enough room for a rollaway or sofabed. Check the following hotels: Doubletree Surfcomber Loews Courtyard By Marriott (two blocks off the beach but OUTSTANDING rooftop pool) Marriott South Beach South Seas (make sure they guarantee you a double/double room) |
Try Circa 39.
We stayed in the Essex House with our kids and loved its funkiness but read the reviews on tripadvisor - it is worn in spots. |
Circa 39 is a pretty nice hotel, I suppose.
It's also not in South Beach. It's at Collins & 39th, firmly mid-Beach. Given the "party hearty" atmosphere of South Beach, that might be a plus. |
We stayed at the Holiday Inn, it had rooms with 2 queens and rooms with a queen and a sofa bed. It was a nice location, right on the beach. The hotel rooms were dated, but clean and nice.

The Holiday Inn South Beach was shut down for a year or so for lengthy renovations.

GoTravel - thanks for the update. I hope it's still an affordable option after the update.

Unfortunately Barbara, it will not be. At the very minimum, it is being turned into a luxury condotel.
Whatever flag they end up flying is anyone's guess. |
ajcolorado,
We stayed I believe at the Essex house as well. The elevators are very scary. I would not stay there again but we did get a great rate. |
