South Beach Florida Restaurant Recommendation

Staying one night in South Beach in mid-August. Would like to see recommendations for any restaurants for me, my wife and 17 year old son. More interested in atmosphere than food (with moderate for-the-area-pricing), maybe something that enables you to eat indoors but has an open air situation.

Thanks for your help!

Most of the restaurants/cafes along Ocean Drive (the main strip along the beach in south beach) have indoor/outdoor seating. I don't have a specific recommendation, but we just walked the down the sidewalk recently & the restaurants were absolutely begging for customers with half-price entrees in almost all of them. We just opted for one that looked good, ordered one of the mojitos that is the size of your head (really) & we had a really good time. Maybe someone can recommend a specific place, but there are SO many, I can't remember the names. Have fun!

P.S. Your 17 yearold will get an eyeful. We had our 18 year old son with us. Nothing too disturbing, just interesting!

Rattravelers . . . thank you for your input (on both thoughts).

Our 17 year old is pretty mature plus we live in the NY City area so he's accustomed to that sort of thing (I think).

Thanks again.

We did the same thing as Rattravelers. Just walking Ocean Drive is fun in itself! We had a very good meal, ate outside to watch all the activity, but don't remember the restaurants name.
