Sonoma Valley weather last week Oct/first week Nov
We are looking at either the last week of October or the 1st week of November for our first trip to Sonoma Valley.

I noticed in the historical weather charts, that Nov is very rainy. Are we booking too late in the year, and should we be going earlier in Oct? We don't mind cool weather, but really don't want cold and rainy.

Is there much difference between the last week of Oct and the 1st week of Nov?
Between the last week of Oct and first week of Nov? Not much. Big difference betewwn the 1st week of Oct and last week of Oct. The first storms of the wet season come in mid to late Oct. "Indian Summer" and some of the best weather of the year can strech into early Oct.

Have Fun
GP

In some years late October/early November the weather has stayed nice, but most years the Indian Summer has ended by then and you could see rain. Early October is one of the best times of the year IMO.

As stated, Indian Summer can be quite sumptious. It sounds like you can't come any earlier than last week of Octoer, so I won't rub your nose in the possibility that you'll have just missed some great weather.

Nevertheless, even though Indian Summer is most likely to be before your planned trip, I do have memories of very warm and beautiful days in the end of October.

It's a crapshoot, but if you have a choice the last week of October is more likely to be nice than the first week of November.

Agree. October in the wine country is glorious. I would recommend trying to get there by the third week in Ocotber. If you have to wait opt for the last week in Octboer over the first week in November.

We've changed our plans and are now going the 3rd week of Oct.

Thanks to all who helped.

Hopefully we will avoid alot of the crowds from stomp AND the rain!
