Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa
Planning to go for day use, not to stay at. Reviews please?

We just stayed at the SMI last weekend, the spa is gorgeous. There are two pools, both heated very nicely, one is for the Watsu treatments. We did the "bathing ritual" at the spa which consists of a warm shower with grapeseed exfoliant, a soak in the warm pool, a jetted-jacuzzi soak, the herbal steam room and cool shower. We spent almost two hours here, the bathing ritual takes about 45 minutes and is included with one of your treatments.
We then relaxed out by the warm, private pool and there is also a quiet relaxtion room. There is a fireplace and lots of lemon water and fresh fruits to keep you hydrated. It's a beautiful property and the spa is heavenly. Have a nice time! ***kim*** ((f)) |
Go to the spa gift shop or the hotel lobby and check out their Apricots n Cream lotions! ***kim*** ((f))

Thanks, kimamom! I understand if you are not a hotel guest, you have to pay $85 for the use of the facility; $45 if you have one spa treatment; free if you have two or more spa treatments.
Do you recommend it for a girls' weekend? I want to hang out at a spa with my friends for my birthday and have never been to one. I'm just trying to envision how the day will go and if this will be a good activity for all of us to share. Thanks. |
I don't know about day use, we always stay there as hotel guests. There is a really nice spa concierge that can answser all of your questions. It is definitely a great place to hang out and a beautiful facility. :)
We are in the President's Club, so access to the spa was complimentary. It is a $70 charge for two to use the spa facility if you are a guest at the hotel otherwise. You may want to join the President's Club before your visit, you also get 15% off of your SMI Logo spa purchases there. A nice savings! ***kim*** ((f)) |
Kimamom - what do you mean you always stay there as a guest? This is your second stay there and first time actually using the spa, correct?

anneofingleside,
(that screen name makes me very curious lol) I would be interested in hearing about your day at the Sonoma Mission . I have heard mixed reviews, some say it is nice- not great, and then there are some who will rave about it, just because they went there .. So do report back! I hope you have a great time. |
"Stay" meaning your day there..

How large is your group of friends? The rest area in the spa is very nice and actually quite large but doesn't lend itself to a large group of friends all socializing together. Instead is has multiple small seating areas. You might plan on a group dinner nearby afterwards. LaSalette has wonderful healthy food (Portuguese/Californian - bet you've never had that before) and friendly service and it is only two miles from the Spa.
