Sonoma - Hotels

Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Sonoma, Aug. 9-11th. Would like to spend no more than $200 a night, but would also like to be centrally located to the wineries. Any suggestions?

We stayed in a cottage room at the Lodge at Sonoma for $189. There were 4 of us sisters in 2 queen beds. Room was large and spacious. I imagine if there are just 2 of you that you'd be able to get a regular room for under $200. We really liked the Lodge and visited many area wineries over the 2 days we were there. The rooms around the pool looked beautiful when we peaked at tehm from our poolside chairs.

There is a Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn which is in a nice location, they have a pool area, jacuzzi, complimentary breakfast and our room had a fireplace and a small patio with French doors that opened out to the pool area.

There is also the Hotel El Dorado, located directly on the plaza, walking distance to girl and the fig, Cafe La Haye and the Swiss Hotel for great meals.

Check TravelZoo, sometimes they offer the Sonoma Mission Inn for $199/night and the room includes admission to the bathing ritual at the spa which is really nice.

Enjoy your trip! ***kim*** ((#))

We've stayed at the Best Western Sonoma Valley Inn several times, but sometime ago. Since Kimamom recommends it, I assume it is still good quality. The location is great--easy walk to the plaza--and also good base to drive to various wineries. We even had a no charge wine tasting one late afternoon.

Icaruso:

We stayed at the Inn of Sonoma, A Four Sisters Inn, which was wonderfully located, within walking distance to the Square. A full buffet breakfast, bicycles for your use, hot tub for the guests, and complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon, made it a perfect choice. Rooms were spacious, with balcony or fireplace- We couldn't have been more pleased.

Do a search on Fodors for Sonoma hotels- and google the Inn of Sonoma, and you will find more information.

Look into the healdsburg Inn/Hotel. Healdsburg is more "centrally located" than Sonoma.

The Hotel Healdsburg is lovely, we enjoyed our stay there very much, rooms for August go well over $300/night here, tho. ***kim*** ((f))
