Son Going To Cleveland for Vacation! Whaddya Think?
BECAUSE he wants to visit the Rock and Roll Museum, and says they have a Six Flags Park for his four-year old daughter to enjoy! What else might a little family enjoy in Cleveland? (Is driving, stopping in State College, PA, from Boston.)
Not my idea of a great vacation - especially that distance in the car with a four year old. Just be glad it is him and not you. I also thought Six Flags type amusement parks had mostly rides on which kids under a certain height were not allowed (not even mentioning whether or not a kid that age would like big rides - my daughter did at that age, but she has always been a dare-devil)
The Six Flags is pretty nice. Used to be an old-style amusement park that they purchased. If I remember right, there are plenty of rides a little kid would enjoy and a decent wave pool too. Across the lake from the park is a Sea World. When we visited, you could purchase a combo ticket.

The Sea World and Six Flags have combined into one park. A four year old would love this.

Cleveland has a great Zoo, great metroparks, nice art museum. He could always take in a ball game at Jacobs Field, one of the best ball parks in the country, cruise on Lake Erie on the Goodtime. If he wants to drive some more about an hour west is Cedar Point Amusement Park and the Lake Erie Islands. There is plenty to do in Cleveland, it has become a vibrant, hip town, don't knock it Mary and the rest of you until you have been there....

Wow, thanks guys, for all the info. Son will love that there's a water park in that mix because they're all three water babies! Sounds as though they will find lots to do. Will copy your answers to him!

We enjoyed our recent trip to Cleveland. The zoo was really nice (but we were there in the winter, and not many animals were out.) The Rock and Roll Hall of fame was nice, and we enjoyed walking along Lake Erie. We didn't go to Six Flags though.

Just back from week in Cleveland. Loved the R&R Hall of Fame, but can't imagine a 4-year old getting any pleasure from it. Some movies and sound might even be frightening. JMHO
Right next to the Hall of fame is the Great Lakes Science Center (www.glsc.org) . It is a descent educational place worth looking into.

To each his/her own, live and let live and all that, but is the kid even tall enough to get on some of those rides at Six Flags? As far as the R&RHOF, isn't that just a Hard Rock Cafe without the pig sandwich? Does a 4 year old really give a hoot about Buddy Holly? Does anyone give a hoot about Buddy Holly?
Al-Don't give out critiques unless you have been to the place and NO the RRHOF is not a Hard Rock Cafe....
So then what is it?

I'm with you Al, I live in the area and can't think of a place I'd rather not bother going to than the R&R HoF...unless maybe it's down the road to the pro football HOF. And, I might add, I am from the R&R era...
