Something Special to do in Orlando

My wife and our 2 kids (4 and 2) will be going to Orlando for a week.

I know that going to the theme parks is magical on its own.

I'm looking for something special to do with the family. Don't mind spending a few dollars more to make it special, but i'm looking for suggestions.

We've already got the character breakfasts and the restaurants all booked for our stay. If anybody has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, this will be a surprise, so i really want to blow them away!!!

Sounds like you have your trip pretty well covered. Can't think of something else to do for ones that little. They will think it's ALL special. Where are you staying? maybe that will prompt some different ideas.

I would highly encourage you to go to disboards.com. Those folks are true WDW affectionados and will definitely have good ideas for you.

Sorry that I just can't come up with any.

Hi mouseeeee-
Most visitors to Florida find airboat rides a unique Florida experience.

Closest to the Disney/Universal Studios area is Boggy Creek Airboats <http://www.bcairboats.com/>. Their boats are large and they cater to the tourist trade. They do a decent job though.

East of Orlando, in Brevard County (near Kennedy Space Center & Cocoa Beach), on State Road 528 (AKA The Beachline), right at the St. John's River on the Orange County-Brevard county line, there is the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp <<http://twisterairboatrides.tripod.com/index.html>>. Here you can take an airboat ride and see some of the real Florida. In the winter months, you have the opportunity to see many migratory birds. This place is very easy to find and is where we often take our foreign friends and relatives.

Another Brevard County airboat operator is: Airboat Ecotours <www.airboatecotours.com>. I don't know much about them but have seen their ads.

With each of these airboat places, you will increase your chances of seeing gators if you go just before dusk.

Plan an afternoon and go to Gatorland on Orange Blossom Trail.

http://www.gatorland.com/

Try the Boggy Creek Airboat rides. They are located on the North Shore of East Lake Toho just south of Orlando International Airport..

Both of these two places are within a 45 minute drive of the attractions around WDW and could be done in less than a day...

My suggestion is actually super-cheap but they will love love it. Head over to Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground and do the Campfire Sing-Along with Chip and Dale. It is absolutely free. S'mores kits are available for about $5 (contains 2 sticks). Afterwards, a Disney movie is shown on an outdoor screen.

You can also do a horse-drawn wagon ride there for abou $10 a person, I think.

We did this our kids, our friends' kids, and my cousin's kids and it was a big hit all the way around.

For more information see:http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com...-campfire.html

Do you have boys or girls? If you have girls, an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a possibility. See: www.buildabettermousetrip.com/activity-bbb.html
