some advice about disney world
 

We are planning to go to Orlando walt disney resort this October for our son's 5th B'day but people are advising us against it because he is too young to go. Is that the case really? Another thing is we cannot decide whether to stay inside Disneyland or on International Drive .Please help with your advice. thanks.

definitely not too young...he will have a blast

stay inside disneyland, although it is slightly more expensive.there are many advantages in stayinginside. do a search in this forum by entering disneyworld and you will get a wealth of information

You can also find hotels outside of Disney, but closer than I-Drive. I know that Radisson and Country Inns have locations just outside of Disney that also have free shuttle

You know your child best. We first took our daughter to WDW when she was 19 months old. We are on our way now for a trip. She is three and has been talking about seeing Mickey for weeks now. Obviously, I don't think 5 is too young. There is nothing more magical than seeing Disney through a child's eyes.

Definitely not, I just went with my 3.5 yr. old daughter and she enjoyed it, what more for 5 yr. old, though I brought along my stroller which was a BIG help. As to hotels, it depends on your budget, if price diff. is small better stay inside for convenience.

I bet your son will have a blast! I think 5 is the perfect age to go for your first time. He is going to love meeting Mickey Mouse and riding the rides at the Magic Kingdom. <BR><BR>I stayed outside of Dinseyworld, not just to save money. For us, the convenience of having a suite with a small kitchenette and plenty of a room was worth staying outside the park. I think we paid $69 which included breakfast in the morning and juices and coffee all day long.

I think 4-5 is the perfect age for Walt Disney World. We took our son for the first time when he was four. This was the best vacation we've ever had! He absolutely loved it and we loved watching him. He was joyful!! I will tell you that we went in January when the weather was cooler and crowds were thin. It made for a most enjoyable visit. You are going in October which should be great, too. We always took breaks in the afternoon so he didn't get overly tired and paced ourselves. <BR><BR>We always stay onsite and I would recommend it, if possible. It's easier to get around (especially if you don't plan on renting a car) and I think staying onsite just adds to the Disney experience. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans (twice) and The Beach Club Resort (which is fabulous, but expensive). These resorts are all very nice.<BR><BR>You are going to have great fun!

I think 5 is the perfect age as long as you take breaks and don't try to cram everything in....<BR><BR>I have stayed on International Drive and would never go back now that I have stayed in the park hotels. A bit more expensive but a completely different wonderful experience!!
