Solo Yosemite Lodging
I am a female in my mid-30's travelling to Yosemite for the first time in early October. While I've traveled alone to multiple NPs before I was hoping to get some recommendations on lodging ideas (either a specific hotel or area to look for airbnbs) in or near Yosemite. I'm not comfortable flat-out camping but am open to "no-frills" options (as long as I feel safe). I'll be flying into SFO and renting a car - staying 4 nights; 5 days. Thanks in advance!

An English acquaintance who visited the area stayed at the Bug Resort/Hostel and said she liked it very much.

Look at cabins at Half Dome (aka Curry) village. Great location. Perfect for a solo traveler.

Staying in the park is always best if you can find something available that you can afford. October isn't far off but you can check for cancellations. Otherwise the Bug is affordable and I believe there's a shuttle from there into the park.

Thank you all for your quick responses. I did book a heated canvas tent at Half Dome. For those of you that have stayed there before, any items you would recommend bringing (besides the obvious hiking gear)? Or any "must-do" hikes for a first-timer? Thanks!

Here's the trip planning/trip report from my November solo trip a few years ago.
While not for everybody, I will say that my full day hike UP the 4mile tral then DOWN the panorama trail is among the best hikes I've ever taken anywhere. http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...d-november.cfm |
This is great - thank you @J62!!
