Solo Oahu Activities

Hi everyone. Thanks to some air miles, a bit of time between new jobs and this wonderful site I've setup a quick trip to Oahu for myself on the 6-11th of February. While I'm sure I'll be able to find things to do while I'm there I'm even more sure that everyone here can help me do an even better job of it.

I'm there from Sunday night til Friday morning and will be staying in Waikiki (Waikiki village). I hadn't planned on renting a car but could always do that. I'm not looking for things that require loads of planning (it's a vacation after all) but what would you all suggest for a mid 30s guy on his first trip to Hawaii? I'd like to do some snorkling, maybe a whale viewing trip? How about hiking? Any things you think I really have to do?

Thanks in advance
A freezing Canuck looking forward to warmer climates :)

Thanks everyone. I didn't know about the Catamaran deal with the hotel so I'll have to call and see if I can still get it (I didnt' mention the code when booking).

Lots of things seem to require booking in advance. Do you think I'm going to end up out of luck if I just wing it versus booking these things before I get there?

The cat's mostly on a "just show up" basis except perhaps for the "booze cruise".
Phone is: 808-922-2210

Daytime sailings are "speed sails" where they thrash it as fast as they can.
