Soccer in NYC bars?
Hi,
I'm heading to NYC on Monday till Thursday and my addiction to Manchester United means I really want to catch the European cup Semi Final on Wednesday. Can anyone tell me where's a good bar to watch in Manhattan preferably near the shops so my other half can take out her anger at me on my credit card? Will I have to pay in to the bars there to see the game? C |
Not sure how up to date this is:

I don't have a personal recommendation for NYC, but www.soccerbars.com has some listings. You can start there.
Good Luck! Your side looks much better than ours (Bayern) against those Italians. :) |
Oh, and the games are being shown on ESPN2 (not pay-per-view), so there should not be a charge. The air time will be 2:30pm EDT.

I'd try Baker Street Pub on 1st Ave at 63rd Street. Near where I used to live. Heavy soccer and rugby focus, very neighborhood friendly. Not too far from Bloomingdales, and then just a bit farther walk to shops on Madison and 5th Ave.

I'm sure most Irish bars will have the match. There's a group of them called Connolly's that are spread out near touristy areas.
