So you loved your bear watching day trip in Katmai National Park. Would you do it again and again?

These trips are expensive but very unique. So would you opt to do it again on your next trip to Alaska? How many times do you think you would want to do it before you say, no more bear watching day trips. What exciting activities, in your opinion, are more desirable than bear watching? I would like to read your view on bear watching and other activities in Alaska.

One poster here seems to do it every year. Please help me understand why it would be interesting to do this type of trip more than once.

Are there any activities, that you pay $$$$ and repeat many times?

We need to to decide should we go back for our second bear watching trip or go to Denali Park and look for bears and other wildlife?

I have not been, but it is a life-long dream. I love wildlife and do many repeat performances. For instance, I'll take just about any whale watching trip anywhere if the boat looks like it'll remain afloat long enough.;-) Guess it just depends on priorities, Mama, and which things in life you consider worth spending your $$ on! :)

Sorry, Mama, missed the Denali part for some reason. Yes, I've been to Denali and would go back there again, too. May never make it back, but I'd go again if in Alaska. But this time, I'd stay at one of those places deep inside the park.

If you've been on a bear viewing trip, and you are asking us to talk you into doing it again, then maybe you ought to pass this time. Don't you want to try your odds at seeing the majesty of Denali - 30% chances! :)

SpeedBuggy, you gave me a great answer and I thank you. I almost forgot about whale watching we can do from Homer

SpeedBuggy Aug 8th, 2006 04:52 AM

I haven't been out of Homer - heard Rainbow is good, though. We did see a whole lot of humpbacks on our NW Glacier Kenai Fjords trip out of Seward last May. Good luck! :)
