snowtubing in NC

We want to go snow tubing in NC in February. We also want to find a place to stay close to the slopes. Any idea? My children are 13 and 8. My husband's knees won't let him ski.

Massanutten, Sugar Mt, Beech Mt. These are all smaller ski resorts great for children. Can't remember if all have tubing but at least the 1st 2 do and Beech has iceskating as well! Have fun:)

Pretty sure Beech does.

Didn't mean to post so quickly. I am not sure what the poster means by smaller resorts good for children. They are about the only shows in town and CROWDED!! Appalachian Ski Mountain is another in the area and very good.
To the OP, please get ski lessons for your children. It will pay off because they won't have to wait in lift lines and they will improve dramatically--a very necessary skill when skiing NC to be able to manage yourself on the mountain.

Has anyone stayed near one of the resorts? I'm cruising www.vrbo.com now and I'm leaning toward Sugar Mountain. I like the description of Wolf Laurel, but I can't find a good place to stay.

Thanks for the feedback. It has been nearly 20 years since I went to the Boone area.

Sugar and Beech are the largest and best. The area has grown rather exponentially in the last 20 years.
