Stella, don't knock it until you try it. I am a huge fan of cross country skiing where you truly do experience the peace and quiet of the wilderness and the beauty of a pair of lone ski tracks in the fresh snow. BUT, the exhiliration of riding a snowmobile up to the Continental Divide and looking at the vista from 14,000 feet is something else! And I sure wouldn't want to have to get there on my own steam.

Karen:
West Yellowstone is a well known snowmobile takeoff point for Yellowstone Park in the winter. Also, there are hundred of miles of trails in an adjoining national forest so I am told.
My wife, son and myself fly out to do the snowmobile thing on 12/27.
Regards,
Robert

Ah, come on... what Stella said is hardly harrassment! Simply her heartfelt beliefs. And since this is America, and last time I checked, we still have free speech rights Stella is welcome to express those. It's pointless to try to change her mind (tree hugger that she is) and this is a forum for all opinions. While I talk about the exhiliration of snowmobiling, it is REALLY noisey! That must be annoying as hell to non-snowmobilers and tree huggers alike!
And I can't reiterate enough... take out the optional insurance! (my friend left $900 behind after hitting a tree)
