Snowbirding in New Orleans?

Has anyone else here had any luck finding long term furnished rentals in New Orleans? While I have found a few they all seem to be in highly 'touristy' areas.

Is NO a good place to winter? We spent six weeks in Savannah last winter. It was just perfect, but we'd like to try something different. I'd really appreciate anyone else's experiences.

New Orleans is a great place to winter. Go to www.nola.com and click on the classifieds and then real estate. Also, a call to a local real estate agent may help.

There are lots of time share units that come up for rent, and some of them are available for a season. Also, there are some small townhouses and cottages that people will rent for part of a year. If you want to do some checking on your own, Call the offices of the Times-Picayune newspaper in N.O. and buy a Sunday newspaper subscription.

Even better, read TP online. Best: Try craigslis.com which has tons of sublets.

Super ideas! Many thanks. Another question. How loud do neighborhoods tend to be? I've been told that it's a 24/7 town and that may be much too noisy for us.
