Snow in Sedona
 

We are planning a trip to Sedona in a few days and snow flurries are in the forecast. Has anyone visited in these conditions? Should we cancel our plans? We were planning on taking in the scenery, as it is our first visit.

We visited in February one year and had 6 inches of snow. The residents were so excited. Being from snowy Ohio, we were less than delighted. I do have some great pictures of snow on cacti though.

Sedona is beautiful in the snow and most of the snow melted very quickly. We actually extended our stay because the road to the Grand Canyon was closed. We were staying at the Enchantment Resort, so staying a couple extra days was no sacrifice. Enchantment usually has some great rates in Feb.

Sedona had rain Monday which turned to snow by afternoon and continued into the night. This morning, temperature is 30 degrees, with about six inches of snow on the ground on top of a layer of ice underneath from Monday's long rain. Clouds continue, with occasional sunny breaks. Roads appear to be open, into and around town. By noon or early afternoon, we should see a lot of melting. In the meantime, it is totally gorgeous.

Do not cancel..it will melt by the time you get up there..
It is one of the most beautiful places you will ever see.
I have been to Sedona when it is snowing and its gorgeous on the red rock..I will be up there next weekend and hope its all melted so we can hike Boynton Canyon.
