Snow early Dec Vail?

Hi - Found a great "early winter" rate at the Ritz Beaver Creek including lift tix. Taking my husband to surprise him on his bday. Living on the east coast I have never skied out West so early in the year - any thoughts on snow conditions in mid-Dec? It doesn't have to be perfect - but is it fair to expect 80% or so of the mountain to be skiable? Thanks for your feedback.

BC put in snow making equipment on the Ritz side of the mountain so you will have snow on that side. Will all the trails be open? It depends on the weather but most of the mountain should have snow by that time.

Hi, my husband and I are looking for some mid-week getaway's if possible and would love to do the Ritz. Where did you get that rate? Ritz website? or a vacation website. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

I just wanted to say that my husband I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch (Beaver Creek) in July for our anniversary. It was FABULOUS!!!

Have fun!

Hello "vengle" - the rate is on their website. $255 per room per nite includes 2 daily lift passes. Sounds pretty terrific!

I do it - and wouldn't look back.. Just keep in mind, the entire mountain may not be opened even with pretty good snow - as they sometimes keep runs closed until closer to Christmas... But I wouldn't worry about that... you won't have crowds - so you won't need the entire mountain.
