Snorkeling in Texas

WEll, we've pretty much covered the idea of snorkeling in FL. The Keys it is, but...is there any snorkeling in the South Padre Island area of Texas?

The first three post should win a reward for the best question and answer ever! I'm still laughing...don't know why, this is funny.

I haven't been to South Padre but am going over labor day weekend. I have been checking out the web sites and several places advertise snorkling. Dolphin cove and the jetties? So whats up with that response there is no snorkling?<BR>Lynne

Remember that although South Padre Island is the same latitude as the Keys, it is in the Gulf of Mexico. Sure, you can snorkel there, but you won't see beautiful coral or brightly-colored fish. Instead, you'll see lots of rocks, shrimp, and some fish.
