Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay

We are staying at the Outrigger on the Beach. We aren't planning on renting a car. Could we just take a cab to Hanauma Bay and would it be easy to catch a cab back to the hotel?
Thanks

You could take a cab or take the bus. If you do not have equipment, you could also get a ride with a guide service, who will take you there and later pick you up, both times at your hotel.

Tommy's Tours will pick you up at Waikiki hotel include gear and its $15 pp. Call 808-373-5060, rexervations required.

And FYI, the bay is great. Get there early, bring a picnic lunch. The food place is all the way back up at the top of the hill and it's a long way to go there for lunch and it is extremely overpriced.

Hope this helps...

I agree with Debi.

There are several tours that include equipment for $15 or less. Look for coupons in the free brochures for several $$ off that. You will still have to pay the $5 entry fee. The equipment included is generally better than the equipment you can rent at Hanauma Bay.

A cab will be really expensive, probably $30-$50 one way.

Bus is OK, but don't leave Waikiki until around 8:30 am. Plus the first buses to Hanauma Bay may be full by the time they pass your hotel. But the price is right, only $2 each way.

Personally, I'd get there as early as possible to avoid the rush of folks.
