Snorkeling at Grand Wailea?

We would like to plan a trip to Maui and stay at the Grand Wailea but snorkeling is a very important part of our vacations. Does the Grand Wailea have snorkeling from their beach? Is there any good snorkeling nearby?

Lori: Just returned from Maui last night. Our three teenagers and ourselves spent a good portion of our trip on Wailea Beach, which is located between the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons. While Maui has a huge amount of beaches from which to choose, we kept returning to Wailea Beach for a variety of reasons, but the snorkeling there is quite good if you head out to the rocks and coral to the left of the beach. Wailea is also good when the surf is up for boogie boarding. It is a lovely beach. And you can get to good snorkeling anywhere in the area: Polo Beach, Ulua Beach, Keawakapu Beach and Kam II in Kihei are all good for snorkeling.
