SNA to San Diego

I will arriving at SNA at 11:30 am then get my rental car and drive to San Diego for my vacation in aug. How's the drive from sna to San Diego? Will there be a lot of traffic around lunch time? Any fun place to stop by for lunch?

Julian, <BR>Traffic will depend on the day of week you're traveling. If it's a Friday or Sunday, traffic can be nasty. Otherwise it shouldn't be too bad around lunchtime. The drive is easy to San Diego and about 45 min to 1hour depending on where you're going in SD. San Clemente or Carlsbad are nice places to stop for lunch.

I agree with San Clemente for lunch. Get through the LA traffic first, have lunch on the waterfront pier in San Clemente; the drive to San Diego is a breeze after that.

or drive to laguna beach for lunch. beautiful coastal town. easy 1 1/4 hour drive to san diego from there. you can take either the fwy 5 from there or get on the 5 but cut over to the pacific coast hwy at oceanside and take the coast down - probably take and extra 30 minutes.
