smoky mountains with baby

We have 7 days to spend in Knoxville area in mid July. First couple of days will be spent visiting relatives and the rest of the week is free. We want to visit the Smoky Mountain area but don't know if this is a good idea with an 8 months old baby. Need advice ASAP about accomodations, restaurants and things to do.

We just got back from the Smokies last week with our 3 kids(6, 4, and 11 months). I would definetly recommend visiting the Smokies.

If you are interested in hiking, there are some paved trails that will accommodate strollers, such as Laurel Falls. We also hiked to Grotto Falls, but used a baby carrier because the trail is not paved and not possible with a stroller.

If you like tourist traps, then go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If not, then try Townsend.

What are your concerns about taking a baby?
Thanks for the reply. We have never been in this area and it just seems that there were more accomodations/activities for couples, romance, and such (from what we can gather from the different sites)...We just wanted to enjoy the scenery and spend some quiet time with each other. We've always tried to stay at a bed&breakfast, but I am finding that not many B&B accomodate a small baby. Any recommendations?

There are lovely, romantic hot tub cabins in the Smokies. Will your relatives keep that baby for 2 days? I guarantee youneed it and will enjoy it! try wildflowermountainrentals.com or jacksonmountainhomes.com
Take a couple of days for your marriage- you'll never regret it!
