Are the casinos smokey?

Tom Dec 22nd, 1999 09:27 AM

Which casinos? In general, I have noticed that many people in casinos smoke but each casino is different. Many have no smoking areas/tables. It varies.

VERY smokey - from my experience.

Marie,
Almost all the casinos are very smokey. If you're in a casino for any length of time, you'll smell like a cigarette butt for the rest of the day. Not much for the non-smoker to do.

Amazingly enough, most of the larger, newer Las Vegas casinos are NOT smoky. They apparently have a great ventilation system which gets rid of most of the smoke. While I'm not allergic to smoke, I dislike sitting beside someone who's smoking and I can't stand being in a room which smells of old smoke. In the casinos on the Las Vegas strip, I don't smell that musty smell. That's my take on this subject...
But smell your clothes after you get home, Judy.
Even the newer casinos, which I agree do a MUCH better job of circulating fresher air than they did 6-7 years ago, still leave you smelling like a morning-after-the-frat-party carpet.
Vegas remains a mecca for smokers.
