Small Ship Inside Passage Advice

My wife and I are looking at Small ship Inside Passage cruises. One goes from Juneau to Ketchikan while the other is a roundtrip from Juneau that only goes as far south as Frederick Sound. Any recommendations as to which is best? And how does one get from Denali to Juneau?

I have a friend who works on Lindblad,
my opinion only the one way Ketchikan/Juneau would definately be my preference if I ever decide to fork over the big bucks. :)

You would fly from Juneau to Anchorage or Fairbanks, rent a car and drive 2 hours from Fairbanks or 5 hours from Anchorage- times without stops. Allow at least 2 nights at Denali Park.

I traveled on the state run Alaska Marine Highway ferries all over the inside passage. No itinerary, no advance purchases, no travel agents, no problems.

We did a Juneau Ketchikan last May on Cruise West and loved it.

Another vote for Cruise West. We did Ketchican to Juneau in '04. Superb in every way.
