Small gift for NY relatives

We are making our first trip to NYC in late October and we are so excited! It will be a mix of visiting with relataives and meeting other relatives for the first time. They have lots of activities planned for us. We are mostly cousins and our parents were all born in Ireland.
I would like to bring a little something for them but what? A friend said Sees candy because she thought they did not sell them in NY but I just saw on the Sees website that you can get them on 5th ave.
I live in the CA desert maybe something from there? (all we have is dirt out here!! ha ha) I am not a creative person so I can't think of anything...any ideas?
Thanks,
Shadow

Anything you bring will be appreciated. Maybe some California wine and if you don't want to carry it from home, buy it when you get to NY. What about sending them a beautiful cactus arrangement? Or a Christmas ornament from CA?

Anything related to the family would probably be greatly appreciated. Maybe you have some old photos of your parents and their parents? You could get copies made or maybe make a small photo album. Or even one great photo blown up and put in a frame?

Hmm...bulk packages of toilet paper, bottled water, paper towels, 30 packs of beer. That's usually what I ask guests to bring:-)

You really can't go wrong with wine or specialty liquor (unless your hosts don't drink). Good Tequila?

If your host doesn't drink, I would look in local gift shops for unique candles or bathroom soaps.

If all esle fails, get them shot glasses and keychains from the airport;-)

Nice coffee table book of California; the California desert; flowers of the desert; native animals, The Hearst Castle, etc. A Mexican pottery sun to hang on their deck (?) or Mexican glassware (wine glasses). I also think colorful Mexican cloth placemats & napkins are fun. ((h))

California wine. It is really not nearly as plentiful in NY as one might think.

If you have any old family photos try printing them up and putting them in small frames. I sent a cousin an old photo of our grandmother framed for her wedding. She had never met this grandmother who died way before her birth and her mother had died the yer prior. She was thrilled.

One other suggestion: Irish linen tea towels, a claddagh paper weight or door knocker or something from "the motherland".
