Small Blues Club in Chicago
Good Morning Everyone, My boyfiend and I will be in Chicago Wed and Thursday night this week. He's expressed an interest in going to a Blues club. He'd prefer a smaller type venue where ideally there's 1 person on the stage, playing away, small tables for us to sit at, etc. What we don't want is a place so big and loud it loses the atmosphere...can't see anything and can't hear properly until days later:) We're staying at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower Hotel so a place near there would be ideal. If not, we are more than willing to walk or hop in a taxi. Thanks...Laura

Try Blue Chicago on Clark Street.

Or Kingston Mines in Lincoln Park. I think it's on Clark street.

I second Blue Chicago on Clark. It's a short cab ride from your hotel. It's near Frontiera Grill.
Curious |
we went to a place called Andy's (jazz Club?) and it was really nice --in that it was a restaurant/you could eat while listening-- and the music started early (we were there like at 9pm) rather than having to wait for a 11 pm show... very welcoming to tourists

Thanks for all the replies!! I never even took into consideration that things don't start happening until late at night. I've written the names down and will let you know what we decide.
Thanks Again!! |
Wednesday & Thursday this week?
During the hometown stand for the Cubs playoffs?! A great time to be in Chicago! Check out Buddy Guy's Legends Club. Not sure how big it is,or if it's what you want, but it's owned by the amazing blues player, Buddy Guy. |
Hi there--
The best Blues club I've been to in Chicago is the (Sweet Home) Blue Chicago on Clark Street. IT is near the Chicago Chop House, "Rock and Roll McDonalds" / Hard Rock Cafe. It is very small........long and narrow but extremely 'bluesy' and very Chicago-like. NOt at all a cookie cutter large arena. Have a great time! |
