Skyline Tours Dinner Cruise in New York

Skyline Tours does a dinner cruise that leaves from the World's Fair Marina in Flushing. Two Questions...
1. Any opinions as to whether this is worthwhile for a romantic evening? I have already done all the other tourist things in NY.
2. In terms of price, what is the best way to get to the World's Fair Marina from Times Square? Does the Subway go there or close to there?

Never heard of it, nor has anyone else apparently. Let it die.

ttt means to the top.

ggreen didn't have any answers but he/she was helping you out by moving your post back to the front of the line.

I've got no answers either :-).

Well - I know where the old World's Fair grounds are - but only been by car. No idea of how to get there by public transit - I would think a subway then a bus.

Have never heard of this tour - and can;t find info. Doesnt it give directions on the web site?

Here's the website ... in case anybody wants to help the OP with the research.

I know that to get to Flushing, I would take the E subway line. You can get it right in Times Square at either Port Authority (42nd St/8th Ave) or 50th Street (at 8th Ave). Take it to the end of the line. I've gone to Shea Stadium this way and also the Queens Museum, both in the World's Fair grounds.

Don't know anything about the tour - but if you take it, please post back and tell us how it is! I'm always looking for a new adventure in the city. (Last year I did a sailing tour on the Shearwater out of Battery Park City; no food just wine and beer. It was nice - and wonderful to be on the water - but a little crowded which made it less spectacular...)

My recommendation would be to consider the Circle Line "Harbor Lights" cruise. You depart in the daylight, cruise VERY close to the Statue of Liberty (and again on the way back in the dark when it's all lit up), cruise all around the "bottom half" of Manhattan, under the magnificent bridges, to the Chrysler Building (by the it's dusk/twilight) and return after dark when the lights have been turned on all over - positively magical! The commentary is terrific (and quite amusing) as well.

We prefer not to combine dining and cruising, as we'd rather just enjoy the scenery all along, then have a romantic dinner afterward.

From Times Square, you can ride the #42 crosstown bus to the Circle Line dock on the western end of 42nd Street.

I love the Harbor Lights tour idea, however, I will be spending Christmas week in NY, and the Circle Line only runs the Harbor Lights tour through November. Unfortunately, they don't do a night cruise during December except for New Years Eve. I especially want to go at night, so this won't work for me. Thanks for all of your help!

Well they say they're directly opposite Shea Stadium. So you could take the 7 train to the Willets Point/Shea Stadium Station.

However, considering the size of Shea and the liklihood of the marina actually being in the parking lot I would assume you could walk from there - but it might take 15/20 minutes or so.

(The fact that they give only driving directions on the web site makes me think the subway is not that close - and that people from the cruise might not be interested in a rather long walk back to a subway station late at night.)

This isn;t something I would do at all - but if I did I would rent a car to do so (no more expensvie and more reliable that 2 car services.)
