Six Hours in NYC

We will be in NYC next month for a weekend. My husband has meetings on Saturday, and I would like to find what would be the best tour for me to do by myself. We have our evenings planned. Thanks.

Hi, Mary:
You should definitely go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's fabulous, really one of the best museums in the country.

There is so much to see at the Met, that I'm sure you won't even notice the time whizz by.

Have fun!

I second the Met.

If you are looking for a tour of the city, visit the Gray Line Tours of NYC on the web. We went up for the weekend and took the 'Grand Tour #3'. It takes you on a bus ride (double decker) through lower Manhatten (3 hours) and upper Manhatten (2 hours). What was nice was that you could hop on, hop off at dozens of sites that might be of interest. I think the cost was $33.00. There is another tour company similiar to Gray Lines (NYC Bus Tours?), but there have been some safety issues lately (ie buses catching on fire). Enjoy the city.
The Met's great. Also be sure to see the Empire State Building. The view is wonderful at sunset. Don't miss it.
