What airport? What city? What time of day? Who is picking you up at the airport? If no one there to pick you up, how do you plan to get into the mystery city?

Sure, you can get there...but you can't get back.

O'Hare or Midway? Answer is yes in both cases.

How much luggage you have to tote, what time you need to be back at airport, etc. will determine what you will be able to do there.

At that time of day, your best option is to hop onto the Blue Line and go downtown. It'll take about an hour. If you're off your plane on time, you could be downtown by 11:00.

I'd recommend leaving downtown for ORD no later than 2:30 pm.

Ryderstodwick, you might want to double check how far in advance you need to check-in for an international flight I have been told it is now THREE hours prior and not two! As I said, that is what I have been told but I'm not 100% certain, you might want to double check!

Ryder - if you're arriving at 9:30 and leaving at 17:35, you have 8 hours, not 6. Right? That should be plenty of time to get into the City, especially if your bags are getting checked through from IAH to the UK. Are you one the same airline (AA?) all the way? Just heed everyone's advice about leaving in plenty of time to allow for unexpected delays.
