Six hour Layover in Miami
My husband and I have a six hour layover at the Miami Airport in March. Any suggestions on what we could do? Do any of the nearby hotels offer "pool privliges" for a nominal charge? Thanks.

I don't know about pool options, but if you like jewelry at all, take a cab and head into downtown to the amazing Sebold building. This place is 4-5 stories tall and pure precious stones, gold ,etc. more than you have ever seen, it is a truly amazing site could spend 3-4 hours there and not see it all.Pretty good prices and cannegotiate too.

I have friends who spent several hours of a layover just hanging out at a pool near the Miami airport. They paid the hotel something like $10. for the rights. I think it was the Miami Hilton?

A few years ago I had a layover at Miami Airport. There was a hotel adjacent (by a concourse) to the airport that had an outside pool and workout facility. It was open to the public. Lots of airline personnel were using it between their layovers. I assume it is still there.

There is a beautiful public pool in Coral Gables called Venetian Pool which is a spring fed huge pool - more like a lagoon. About a 20 minute taxi ride w/o traffic - - double it with traffic. Web site is www.venetianpool.com

The Miami international Airport hotel has a rooftop pool..Great lounge and restaurant with a view. also another restaurant next to the pool where you can sit outside or inside..Call ahead and ask about privileges. It's at Concourse "E" at MIA. Here's their web site.

http://www.miami-airport.com/
